The largest town, and the county seat, McMinnville is perfectly situated to serve as a base for exploring neighboring towns.

Established in 1880, Amity is home to wineries and vineyards, as well the historic Briggittine Monastery, and historic buildings and houses.

Established in 1899, Carlton boasts a recently renovated historic and quaint downtown, wineries and winetasting rooms, and extraordinary views of the Coast Range.

Established in 1880, Dayton features many historic buildings and parks, including the Yamhill Blockhouse in city park, historic churches, 1852 Joel Palmer House restaurant, Yamhill Locks Park, Red Hills Park, and nearby Maude Williamson State Park. The Indian reservation was established in 1856 for 40 Northwestern tribes and is now known as the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. Area attractions include Spirit Mountain Casino, Spirit Mountain Lodge, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde pow-wow grounds, and outdoor recreation including hiking, swimming, fishing and hunting.

Established in 1847, Lafayette offers the Lafayette Antique Schoolhouse stores, Yamhill County Historical Museum, Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey, and many homes from the 1860's.

Established in 1889 as a Quaker settlement, Newberg features outdoor adventures on the Willamette and Yamhill rivers, wineries, art galleries, and Herbert Hoover's boyhood home, Minthorn House.

Established in 1866, Sheridan is home to the famous "Erratic Rock," left by the Missoula flood glacier during the last ice age, and a historic downtown featuring restaurants, shops and antiques.

Established in 1903, Willamina offers a historic downtown, nearby hunting, fishing, camping and swimming along Willamina, Mill and other coastal hills creeks and the South Yamhill River, and five city parks.

Established in 1891, and named for the Yamhill Indians, the original inhabitants of the county, Yamhill features easy access to Coast Range camping at Menephee and Bald Peak parks, antique and gift stores, and wineries and winetasting rooms.

The McMinnville Downtown Association works to promote and enhance our historic downtown as the economic, social and cultural heart of the community.
