Friday night 3-10pm, May 16, kick off the UFO Festival weekend with the McMinnville Downtown Association's Landing Party at the US Bank Plaza, sponsored by Third Street Pizza Co. Enjoy pizza, sip on beer in the beer garden and listen to live music with Vivd Curve and the Jake Blair Band. We'll also have live demonstrations with local dance companies and a real magician performing magic!
On Saturday, kick the day off with The Abduction Dash! Registration begins at 12:45pm and the Dash starts at 1:15. You'll have fight your way to the finish through obstacles over a one mile short course. Costumes that don't impair your agility are encouraged.
Watch or participate in the UFO Costume Parade featuring an eclectic mix of marching, grooving, hovering, dancing bands, spaceships, troupes of aliens, out-of-this-world decorated cars and much more.

Following the parade is the Alien Pet Costume Contest at Buchanan Cellers. The Pet Costume contest is open to any and all pets who are willing to undergo the transformation of becoming an Alien creature! We invite you to bring your pet and join the fun!
To help us get into the extraterrestrial spirit, participate in the first inaugural Alien on a Lamp Post Contest! Have fun making your own alien to display on a lamp post along Third Street. For more information and rules, Read More Here

Guests can also enjoy a speaker's forum sponsored by McMenamins Hotel Oregon , with experts speaking on topics such as crop circles and U.S. Military involvement with UFO research. Adults are offered a pint of handcrafted Alienator Ale at McMenamins, and the whole family can pick up t-shirts, books, videos and more. Become a believer, or not...either way, you're sure to enjoy the weekend.
The festival began as a way to honor the famous 1950 Trent sighting in which two local citizens witnessed and photographed a UFO, said to be some of the most credible images of UFOs to date. Read a detailed history of the Trent sightings.
